£25m plans for new Peckham Rye station district to be revealed

Designs to revitalise the area around the Grade 2 listed Peckham Rye railway station will move a step closer to reality this weekend as the next phase of public consultation begins.

On January 18, designs by architect Weston Williamson and Partners will be shown to the public for the first time as part of a £25 million project being led by Network Rail and Southwark Council.

The event will give passengers and residents a chance to give additional feedback on the scheme.

Network Rail’s director of planning and land services, Tom Higginson, said: “With improved services to Peckham Rye station now running, we’ve got the perfect opportunity to invest in the station area with Southwark Council.

“We, and our partners, will be listening to the people of Peckham in drawing up a plan to benefit the area and help boost existing and new business.”
