Contractors announced £330m LU stations programme

London Underground (LU) has named the 20 contractors that will deliver £330 million-worth of station improvements on the network over the next seven years.

Everything from the floors, walls, ceilings, CCTV systems and electrical systems are to be renovated as part of the Tube’s Station Stabilisation programme.

Work will be carried out at 70 stations over the next seven years, including Embankment, Paddington, Earls Court, South Kensington and Charing Cross.

LU’s programme director for stations, Miles Ashley, said: “This programme of work will see 70 stations brought up to a modern standard, which will not only mean better, brighter customer journeys, but will also mean less closures for remedial work that can cause disruption.
