An FCC-led consortium has won a €506 million contract to build a section of the Doha Metro Red Line.
The contract, which was awarded by the Qatar Railways Company, is FCC’s first major project in the Arab Emirates and the company’s second significant rail project win in the Middle East in the last six months.
The consortium includes Greece’s Archirodon, Yüksel from Turkey and Qatari company Petroserv. Work will include the construction of a 6.97-kilometre section of the line and three elevated stations along the €20 billion system.
Last year, FCC’s FAST consortium was awarded a €6 billion contract to construct three lines of Riyadh’s new metro system.
