Russia and Ukraine’s state-owned rail operators have agreed to use Talgo rolling stock on services between Moscow and Kiev.
New trains built by the Spanish manufacturer are due to enter service on the route from the end of 2014.
The new trains will have a maximum operational speed of 200 km/h and by utilising tilting technology, will reduce travel times between the Russian and Ukrainian capital cities.
Talgo will supply the trains in a 20-car configuration with a capacity of 414 passengers.
