The Komatsu PW138MR-11 is a quick and precise mid-sized wheel excavator converted for both road and rail use. Fitted with a EU Stage V engine. The Rail Rascal is productive and efficient with its ultra-low emissions and comes with quick maintenance features where the oil filter, oil dipstick, coolant reserve tank, fuel filter and air cleaner are all within easy reach. In addition to the rail axles, we've integrated an RCI system to ensure the machine works to the maximum of its capabilities which ensures the operator is safe whilst working. Its compact size makes the Rail Rascal a preferred choice when working in confined spaces, due to its 3 steering modes including crab and 4-wheel steer. Its offset boom capabilities also allow it to undertake drainage excavation works on the railway.

RCI System
Our lifting road rail vehicles are fitted with GKD Rail safety systems. Now with the option of integrated proximity warning sensors, the fitted RCI system now not only manages the lifting capabilities of the machine, ensuring the operator and machine can work safely. But ensures that any operational procedures are conducted in a safe working area keeping the machine and surrounding personnel out of harms way.
RCI System
The Komatsu Spacecab, is centralised by an air suspended heated seat with adjustable armrests for improved comfort. High visibility and ergonomic proportional controls are designed to help improve the operators productivity and accuracy. Fitted with a auxiliary input and A 24-volt power port, and sound suppressing technology to keep exterior noise levels low, the Rail Rascal comes with plenty of quality of life features.
Friction Drive
The Rail Rascal is fitted with our friction drive rail axles which are driven by the tyres. The axles have direct rail wheel braking integrated for optimum stopping performance via independant park and service brake calipers. The axles have been designed with maintenance tasks in mind, minimising servicing task durations and frequency.
